Run, Turkey! Run!

Turkey Run

PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION BEFORE REGISTERING

Vermont Badlands is a private property, originally with trails developed by Northeast Jeep Organization and limited to use by that club.  They have been able to keep it open in spite of a lot of local resistance. Our club will be collecting donations for each vehicle. Donations are $20 per vehicle and our club gives 100% of that to the owner for his legal fees he's incurred and continues to pay.

THERE IS NO GREEN TRAIL.  Trust me.

The driveway may require 4WD - tow rigs beware.  If you have a 2WD tow rig, if the conditions are slippery, please find safe parking at the bottom of the hill.

Trails ratings will be mostly Black and harder.  We will require a winch for this run, and highly recommend locking differentials.  Skid Plates, Body Armor and Rocker Protection are recommended. A lot of the “More,” difficult trails are optional and on our first visit we didn’t cover a lot of ground.

Don't forget cameras, lunch, non-alcoholic beverages, proper attire for the weather, protection from bugs and ticks and/or other seasonal concerns.

Thank you very much.

For questions, please email Mike White at president@mohawk4x4.org, or text 978 868 7724 if you're running late or not making it on the day of the run.

Massachusetts OHV Registration Information

Massachusetts laws, Chapter 90b, require vehicles operated for recreation off-road or on unimproved roads, on public and private property, to be registered as an ATV through the Massachusetts Environmental Police Bureau of Registrations.

Mohawk 4x4 Adventures does not require members to have this completed to participate at this time, but we do highly recommend it.  You may be subject to tickets by law enforcement without it and could be ticketed. This is your responsibility to be legal when off-roading in Massachusetts.

Registration is easy to complete by mail, as long as your rig meets the requirement of a valid street registration in your home state.  Some registrations require an exemption of sales tax form is submitted along with your vehicle registration. This just proves that you have paid sales tax if it was required and the vehicle is not stolen.  Our club does require proper registration in your state, so it should be a straightforward process now.

You receive two decals for your vehicle with your registration number, one expiration date, and a card you must carry with you that is your permit.
